Armagnac is only produced in the Armagnac region in Gascony, Southwest France and the major difference between Cognac and Armagnac is that Armagnac only goes through one single distillation. They are also aged in French oak barrels and similar to Cognac, these single vintage Armagnacs are governed by The Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l Armagnac (BNIA) with similar bottling regulations and procedures as the Cognac.
